英語で学ぶ①TEDバンクーバー　イーロン・マスク氏講演について

Tesla Motors（TSLA）、SpaceX、Boring Company、Neuralinkのチーフ・エグゼクティブであるイーロン・マスクは、TEDのヘッドキュレーター、クリス・アンデルソンとのバンクーバーTED会議で輸送の未来について話し合った。その講演からの3つのハイライトを紹介します。

：Three Highlights From The Recent Elon Musk's Ted Talk

Elon Musk, a well-known tech innovator and the chief executive of Tesla Motors (TSLA), SpaceX, the Boring Company and Neuralink, discussed the future of transport with TED's Head Curator, Chris Anderson at a recent TED conference in Vancouver. Here are three highlights from that discussion:

① Self-driving Trucks. Musk talked about Tesla’s latest electric truck, Tesla Semi, that can outspeed any diesel truck. "If you had a tug of war competition, the Tesla Semi will tug the diesel semi uphill," he said. Musk previously claimed that the truck will be unveiled this September.

② Underground Road Networks. Musk is known for his dislike of anxiety-inducing noisy traffic and traffic jams. He said that the Boring Company is already working on the ambitious project that will connect Los Angeles and New York. The two cities will be connected through an ultra-fast, underground rail transport system called Hyperloop.

③ Asleep at the Wheel. Musk is confident that the the right technology will enable drivers to fall asleep on their way from Los Angeles to New York by the end of this year. “Essentially, November or December of this year, we should be able to go all the way from a parking lot in California to a parking lot in New York, no controls touched at any point during the entire journey,” he said.

Other exciting updates discussed at the TED conference in Vancouver included plans to facilitate space exploration and the building of four more gigafactories to help meet global demand for battery cells.
