準1級の英作文を見て行きます。

今回はこちらがお題でした。

Should people who live in cities be required to use public transportation?

都市に住む人々に公共交通機関の利用を義務付けるべきか？

解答例は下記でした。（英検サイトから抜粋）

Although private vehicles are convenient, there are too many negative effects. So, people in cities should be required to use public transportation for reasons related to costs and pollution.

First, public transportation can be much cheaper than the alternatives. However, if too many people use their own vehicles, it may be difficult to get enough funds to maintain the services. Therefore, their use should be compulsory.

Second, air pollution in cities must be reduced for citizens’ health. Private vehicles create much of the pollution in cities, so people should be forced to use public transportation instead. If everyone does, much less harmful gas will be released.

In conclusion, for the above two reasons, people in cities should be required to use public transportation. It will not be easy, but it is necessary to save money and to reduce dangerous pollution.
