2級 ライティング（英文要約）を見て行きましょう。
模範解答は下記でした。
Social media has become a popular way for young people to communicate with others. It helps them feel connected to others and learn new things. However, they have to understand that it can damage their mental health by comparing themselves to others or might be involved in dangerous situations by sharing personal information.

どうでしょう。まず本文から該当文を抜き出すことが先決です。
それをつなげるだけで合格点はもらえると思います。
慣れていなければ、抜き出してつなげることに集中してください。
次に言い回しを変えるのが難しいなら、語順かえずに似た意味の単語を入れ替えるだけでも良いです。

なお、要約の過去問が増えてきましたが、だいたいパターンが見えてきました。
第一段落から1つ、第二段落から2つ、第三段落から2つ抜き出していることが多いようです。
また、抜き出す箇所は、第一段落は最後の文、第二段落は最初の文か冒頭それとOne reasonなどのキーワードのあと、第三段落は最初の文か冒頭それとHoweverやMoreoverなどのキーワードのあと、と感じています。
もう少し過去問が増えていけば、もっと明確になるでしょう。
気を付けないといけないことが一つあります。
指導しておりますと、本文から抜き出している単語に関わらずスペルミスを見つけます。これだけで致命的な減点にはならないと思いますが、もったいないことですので気を付けましょう。
