2級 ライティング（英文要約）を見て行きましょう。
模範解答は下記でした。
Some university students decide to participate in internships. By doing so, students can have specific information about companies they are interested in and build helpful relationships with other students. However, students may find it difficult to understand the job and perform well in their studies.

まず、やることは本文から該当文を抜くことです。

どうでしょう。まず本文から該当文を抜き出すことが先決です。
それをつなげるだけで合格点はもらえると思います。
慣れていなければ、抜き出してつなげることに集中してください。
次に言い回しを変えるのが難しいなら、語順かえずに似た意味の単語を入れ替えるだけでも良いです。

なお、要約の過去問が増えてきましたが、だいたいパターンが見えてきました。
第一段落から1つ、第二段落から2つ、第三段落から2つ抜き出していることが多いようです。
今回の抜き出した箇所は、第一段落は最後の文、第二段落はThese have some good pointsまたAlsoのキーワードのあと、第三段落はOn the other handとAlsoのキーワードのあと、でした。
もう少し過去問が増えていけば、もっと明確になるでしょう。
気を付けないといけないことが一つあります。
必ず見直してください。見直しは非常に重要です。
